History took place among us, according to reports handed down by the original eyewitnesses, investigated in close detail, and recorded in the best-selling book of all time.
Shepherds reported that during the night while watching over their sheep, an angel announced, "A Savior has just been born! Look for a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger." Miraculously, a virgin had given birth to a son, conceived by God's Holy Spirit.
As the angel along with choir of angels disappeared into heaven, the shepherds decided to go to Bethlehem and see for themselves. They literally ran into town and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger. Seeing was believing; and they told people what they had seen and heard.
Luke, a physician, writes, "The boat was far out to sea when the wind came up and the waves battered their boat. Around four o'clock in the morning, Jesus came toward them walking on the water. They were frightened, thinking He was a ghost. But Jesus confirmed, "It's me. Don't be afraid.' When Jesus climbed into the boat, the storm ceased and the disciples began worshipping Him, saying, 'You are truly God's Son!'"
Jesus reported, "The blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised." The disciples told what they had seen with their own eyes, "We saw everything He did in the land of Israel and in Jerusalem where they killed him, hung him from a cross. But in three days God raised him up." Jesus came out of his tomb alive, according to over 500 eyewitnesses who saw Him!
The disciples gave powerful witness to the resurrection of Jesus and that He sacrificed his life for our sin and the sin of the whole world. The disciple John verified, "From the very first day, we were there and were telling you what we witnessed: God Himself as one of mankind. We want you to know that you can know Jesus personally. You can be a friend of God."
